Tim Clark
Tim is the Joint Head of the Melbourne Office and is adept in intellectual property protection and commercialisation, and IT and telecommunications contracts, as well as commercial agreements, franchising, data protection, privacy and competition and consumer law.
Tim has vast knowledge in advising on all aspects of intellectual property protection, its commercialization and enforcement and disputes. Tim supports clients with management of intellectual property portfolios in Australia and overseas including trademark filings, prosecution and oppositions in Australia and overseas. A significant percentage of Tim's work is in biotechnology and other high technology industries. This work includes drafting and negotiating complex license and technology transfer agreements, clinical trial agreements, research and development agreements, collaboration agreements, manufacturing and quality agreements, and marketing agreements.
Tim has extensive experience advising IT and telecom service providers and government and corporate clients on procurement, software (including software development), software as a service (SaaS), IT services and telecom services.
Tim advises clients on data protection and privacy laws, including privacy policies and statements, data collection practices, data sharing mechanisms, and mandatory reporting of data breaches. He supports both public and private sector clients working or traveling in Australia and organizations operating abroad.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Master of Law and Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne.
