The company's history dates back to 1924 when Tomiyama Eiichiro founded the toy airplane company Tomiyama Toy Seisakusho. Today's TOMY Corporation was formed in March 2006 from the merger of Japan's largest toy manufacturer TAKARA and TOMY. Tomy operates in more than a dozen countries in North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
