Touji Souya

Professional shogi player Touji Souya holds the rank of Meijin. Only five middle schoolers in the history of shogi have gone pro, making him the youngest Meijin ever. He seems incredibly young because his appearance hasn't changed much since he was a teenager.

He has been compared to a god in shogi, but he can be a little forgetful. It was discovered that he suffered from an unidentified occasional hearing loss after his about with Kiriyama.

A significant character in March Comes In Like A Lion season 2 is Touji Souya. In contrast to the other characters in the list above, he is an expert at board games, particularly Shogi. He is not a military or battle planner. The highest professional Shogi title in the anime, Meijin, has been attained by him.

This proves that Touji Souya has surpassed all other Shogi players in the series, thanks to his skillful tactics. Even opponents of equal professional standing have little chance against him in a match.

The anime's main character and up-and-coming Shogi prodigy, Rei Kiriyama, had the opportunity to play Touji Souya. He was taken aback by how difficult it was to combat him. Touji Souya instantly countered every move Rei Kiriyama made. Rei ultimately gave up the game against the Meijin without making much headway. No wonder he is one of the greatest anime strategists of all time.
