Universidad Americana, Nicaragua
The American University (Universidad Americana - UAM) is a private university in Nicaragua's capital city of Managua. It was founded in 1992 and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in law, medicine, business, and engineering, among other fields. Despite the fact that most degree programs involve English language requirements, all courses provided by UAM College are taught in Spanish. According to the university's website, more than 5,000 students have graduated from UAM since its inception.
The American University was formed in 1992 by a group of university academics with extensive expertise in teaching, research, and administration, with the goal of contributing to Nicaragua's higher education development. The National Council of Universities officially authorized UAM on November 26, 1992, and gave it national recognition.
Currently, UAM College offers five major degree programs. Students can pick from a variety of minors, including Business Law, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Issues, Finance, International Development, Management, and Strategic Marketing, in addition to these main degree programs. Students can focus their minor program of study even more by choosing a concentration, such as Tourism Development, Outsourcing Management, Natural Resource Management, Integrated Marketing, Environmental Issues, Education, or Branding and Communications.
