Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria
The National University of Engineering (Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria), also known as the School of Civil Constructions and Mining Engineers, was founded in 1876 by the Polish engineer Edward Jan Habich. Engineers were in high demand in Peru at the time of its founding, because of the fast development of mining and communications. Today, the National University of Engineering is largely considered Peru's leading science and technology university, with many of its alumni holding senior positions in business, academia, and government. Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria is undoubtedly one of the best universities in Nicaragua.
