Universidade de Santiago

Universidade de Santiago (University of Santiago) is a private higher-education institution located in the big town of Assomada, Santa Catarina (population range of 10,000-49,999). Universidade de Santiago (US) is a very tiny (enrollment range: 500-999 students) coeducational Cape Verdean higher education institution that is officially recognized by the Ministério da Educacao e Desporto, Cabo Verde (Ministry of Education and Sport of Cape Verde). In a variety of fields of study, the Universidade de Santiago (US) offers courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees. Students have access to a variety of academic and non-academic facilities and services, including a library and administrative services.

Universidade de Santiago is a Cape Verdean private university. The main campus is at Assomada (subdivision Bolanha), in the center of Santiago Island. Two satellite campuses are located in Praia (subdivision Prainha) and Tarrafal, respectively. It is one of Cape Verde's eight universities, and it was founded on November 24, 2008. It has been led by current rector Gabriel António Monteiro Fernandes, who holds a Ph.D. in Sociology, since its inception in 2008.

The University of Santiago now offers nineteen (19) undergraduate degrees and seven (7) graduate (master's degree) degrees as of August 2018. It also provides vocational degrees in multimedia development, electromechanics studies, solar power system, and rural tourism and environment, among others. With all the information mentioned above, it can not be denied that Universidade de Santiago is one of the best universities in Cape Verde.
