Valley of Fire State Park

Valley of Fire State Park is located around 80 kilometers (50 miles) northeast of Las Vegas. Many people compare the park's extremely extraordinary terrain to the surface of Mars rather than any place on earth. While much of the scenery is photogenic, there are particular locations you'll want to drive to expressly while you're there. Panorama vistas at Rainbow Vista make it a well-liked location for photo shoots. You can access stunning sandstone formations with sharply contrasting colors at White Domes through a short pedestrian trail.

Since 1935, tourists have been drawn to Nevada's oldest and largest State Park by the breathtaking red sandstone rock formations of Valley of Fire. The park is conveniently located near Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam, making a day trip from Las Vegas to it a great option. Learn more about how the breathtaking landscape came to be at the visitor center. Dinosaurs roamed the desert more than 150 million years ago.

There are many highly interesting hiking paths that will take you to petrified forests and historic Indian petroglyphs. You can pitch a tent or leave your RV at one of two serviced campgrounds if you want to spend the night in the desert, or you can just bring a picnic and come here.
