Visit Wat Arun Temple

Thailand is famous for its splendid temples since Buddhism is the dominant religion among Thai people. Whether you enthralled by the impressive and magnificent ancient architecture or you are desire of solitude and peacefulness, you’ll want to make the trip to Thai temples at least once. Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, is an amazing sight for you to visit. It is located along Chao Phraya River, Bangkok.

In 1768, King Taksin rebuilt the temple and named it Wat Jang. After a long time of having abandoned, the temple was renovated and renamed Wat Arun which connected with the Indian Aruna God (God of Dawn). Inspired by Khmer architecture, the central massive tower of Wat Arun is the most iconic highlight, with a height of around 80 meters. It is surrounded by four smaller spires with four spiritual god statues.

You can climb up to the main spire and enjoy a spectacular view of Chao Phraya River at sunset time. Moreover, visitors may rent traditional costume of Thailand here and take beautiful photographs with the dazzling temple. Since it is a religious site, you should dress and behave in a respectful manner.
