Tyler Brûlé, a Canadian journalist, and Austrian journalist Alexander Geringer founded the magazine in London in 1996. Future plc now owns it following its acquisition of TI Media. The Wallpaper brand generates content, curates exhibit, and develops events for premium clients in addition to producing the monthly magazine and website. Wallpaper Composed is a high-end interior design service, and it has released over 100 trip city guidebooks in collaboration with Phaidon Books.
