Wattpad

Wattpad is a website where users can read and post their own stories for free. The website's creators, Allen Lau and Ivan Yuen, claim that their goal is to break down boundaries between readers and authors. Users can share their own work or view the works of other users on this site. Wattpad was acquired by Naver Corporation in January 2021, and the deal was finalized in May of that year. In November 2021, Wattpad had over 90 million monthly users who could communicate with the writers and other readers in real time.

Wattpad's
greatest annual literary competition, The Watty Awards, attracts approximately 300,000 entrants from 35 countries. Stories on the platform are available in more than 50 languages. After and The Kissing Booth are two examples of these tales that have been adapted into successful TV shows and films. To remove the "guesswork" from publication for writers, Wattpad introduced Wattpad Books in January 2019.
