Xiamen Airlines
Xiamen Airlines is also known as Xiamen Airlines. Beijing serves as the company's northern headquarters, and Xiamen Air also operates eight branches there as well as two subsidiaries in Hebei Airlines (99.47% ownership) and Jiangxi Airlines (60% ownership, based on the former Xiamen Airlines Nanchang Branch). Xiamen Airlines was the first airline in China to run independently as an enterprise, and it was established on July 25, 1984.
The Shanghai Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the Xiamen Special Economic Zone Construction Development Company (now Xiamen C&D Group), and the Fujian Investment Enterprise Corporation formed it as a joint venture. China Southern Airlines Corporation (55%), Xiamen C&D Group (34%), and Fujian Investment and Development Group (11%) are the company's shareholders. Zhao Dong is the current chairman of Xiamen Airlines, while Wang Zhixue is the general manager.
With 3,500 to 4,000 flights per week out of Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, Beijing Daxing International Airport, Fuzhou Changle International Airport, and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, Xiamen Airlines flies more than 320 domestic and international routes and transports close to 25 million passengers annually.
