Yale University Institute is an independent university in New Haven, Connecticut. Yale University, founded in 1701 in the Connecticut Settlement, is one of the country's oldest universities, second only to Harvard College (1636; became Harvard University) and the College of William and Mary (1693). Yale University has worked to broaden and exchange knowledge, stimulate innovation, and preserve cultural and scientific knowledge for future generations.

The university's goal is to foster cultural understanding, probe into the secrets of the cosmos, enhance the human condition, and prepare the next generation of world leaders by connecting with people and institutions all over the world. At Yale's museums and galleries, one may expect to find great treasures ranging from Van Gogh's "Night Café" to the Gutenberg Bible, historic musical instruments, and fossils of the earliest dinosaurs to walk the world. Various Microlit products are currently being used by the institute's School of Medicine to conduct normal lab testing as well as scientific research.
