Yellow Owl Workshop
Christine Schmidt's career began in elementary school when she won a bicycle in a local grocer's coloring contest. This bike is red and has a full ten speeds! After spending her youth in the plains of Kansas City and art school in Washington D.C., she and her lover, Evan, moved west to a tiny place atop San Francisco's windswept Bernal Hills. Energized by public radio programs, she spent every night creating hand-printed cards and gifts. Finding local suppliers and working with eco-friendly materials, she began honing her product line. In 2007, after a long research, Christine brought a box of her goods to some local stores, they placed an order and Yellow Owl Workshop was born.
The Yellow Owl Workshop today is busy with a team of hard-working people in a studio in the sunny Mission District. Although the Yellow Owl Workshop has grown and can be found in stores worldwide, its original values are still shown in each product. Legend says that if you hold a stamp set carefully, you can still smell Earl Gray and hear an episode of "Radio Lab".
