Yikpa waterfall
On the famous plateaus of Danyi, there is the Yikpa waterfall, the most beautiful tourist site in Togo. The Yikpa waterfall (also called Agumatsa waterfall) is within the Agmatsa Wildlife Sanctuary, about 30 km north of Kpalimé, and is the largest waterfall in West Africa. It is divided into two vertiginous falls, one of which is in Togo (110m high) and the other in Ghana. The landscapes to reach the falls are magnificent with a sometimes difficult climb. Two ways to get there: the two-day hike from Kouma Konda, with a stop at the Amégapé waterfall, overnight in a village, or transportation by the car to Yikpa, passing by the Danyi plateau.
As one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Togo, the Yikpa waterfall has everything to attract tourists and most visitors prefer to climb the mountain to enjoy the natural delights of the waterfall. The water is fresh, an irresistible invitation to swimming. A true paradise in a pure and green space. According to the inhabitants and elders of the locality, Yikpa waterfall is under the good guard, the benevolent eyes of the protecting geniuses. The villagers of Yikpa have organized themselves into the waterfall management committee and drawn a maintained track.
