  1. The stage of "The Fist of Blue Sapphire" is set with a historical enigma revolving around the legendary "blue lapis fist," a sapphire of immense value believed to have met its watery resting place aboard a pirate ship in the latter part of the 19th century along the Singaporean coasts. The quiet whispers of this prized jewel awaken the ambitions of a local tycoon, who orchestrates an elaborate scheme to reclaim this invaluable treasure.

However, as the gem finds itself displayed within the opulent halls of Singapore's Marina Sands hotel, a horrifying twist materializes – a brutal murder stains the event. What compounds the mystery is the ominous presence of a Kaitou Kid calling card drenched in blood, strategically positioned at the crime scene.

Against this backdrop, two seemingly disparate narratives coalesce. Ran and Sonoko are visiting Singapore to witness a prestigious karate tournament; at the same time, Conan, trapped by his lack of a passport, is confined to the boundaries of Japan. Yet, the reputed thief Kaitou Kid, recognizing his value, employs a conjuration to transport Conan against his will to the heart of Singapore. Stripped of his belongings – his glasses, wristwatch, and attire – Conan is coerced into a disguise, essential to fulfill Kid's machinations. On the spur of the moment, in response to Ran's innocent query, he spontaneously adopts the name "Arthur Hirai" to conceal his true identity.

As the intrigue deepens, Kaitou Kid uncovers the elusive whereabouts of the "fist," concealed within the depths of an ancestral estate's subterranean vault. Yet, the road to the prize is fraught with peril as a powerful adversary emerges – Makoto Kyogoku, a martial arts prodigy with an astonishing streak of 400 unbroken victories. This collision of wits and skills sets the stage for a confrontation brimming with tension in "The Fist of Blue Sapphire."

    The Scarlet Bullet

In "The Scarlet Bullet," the anticipation in Japan is palpable as the world gears up for the grandest sports event, the "WSG-World Sports Games," set to unfold in Tokyo. Coinciding with the grand opening ceremony is the revelation of an engineering marvel, the "Vacuum Superconducting Linear" train, an epitome of Japanese technological prowess, capable of racing at a breathtaking 1,000 km/h, connecting Shin-Nagoya Station to Shibahama Station and extending its network to Tokyo.

The world's gaze turns toward this technological marvel, but the unfolding of a peculiar and sinister incident at a prestigious event hosting the elite sponsors of the tournament takes the spotlight. This situation, one marked by the consecutive abduction of influential corporate leaders, thrusts the narrative into an unexpected spiral.

Behind the scenes, Shuichi Akai, "The Scarlet Bullet," stands vigilant, carefully monitoring the unfolding events while the FBI awaits the directives that will come from him. Conan, with his deductive prowess, unearths a link between the current perplexing WSG kidnapping and an ominous incident that transpired fifteen years prior in Boston, USA. Eerily, the Boston event also fell within the jurisdiction of the FBI; as the pieces align, a chilling question surfaces: Could this be a mere coincidence?

    Black Iron Submarine

At the start of "Black Iron Submarine," Conan, Ran, the Detective Boys, Agasa, and Kogoro score invitations to a fancy resort on Hachijo-Jima, owned by Sonoko's family. And here is where it gets interesting. Subaru gives Conan the scoop that another Europol agent got taken out and that a Black Organization agent named Pinga is stirring things up.

Conan is, of course, on the case: he picks up on Shiratori and Kuroda's trail and follows them to an underwater Interpol joint called Pacific Buoy, a place with a super system that hooks up to surveillance cams all over Japan, Europe, and eventually the whole globe. At the center of this technology is the "All-Age Recognition" system in play, using AI to figure out how old people are based on their facial features.

Bourbon and Vermouth make their way into Pacific Buoy and kidnap Naomi Argento. They stash her in a sub, and from a necklace flash drive they find on her, they learn that this All-Age Recognition system can actually spot Haibara as Shiho Miyano. What are they going to do? How does Shiho keep herself in the dark and away from the Black Organization? The answer lies further within the complex plotlines in "Black Iron Submarine."

  4. "The Bride of Halloween" centers on the city of Shibuya, Tokyo, during the Halloween buzz when the wedding between Takagi and Sato is going to take place. While Conan and the crew are hanging out, an attacker storms in all of a sudden, forcing Takagi to take a hit while trying to shield Sato. Though Takagi makes it out okay, Sato sees Takagi as a mix of the grim reaper she saw when her crush Jinpei Matsuda got killed in the bombings three years back: indeed, the guy that caused those bombings has broken out of prison.

The narrative of "The Bride of Halloween" now switches to our main character, Rei Furuya/Toru Amuro, a cop n a mission to nab the guy who took down his classmate Matsuda. Someone in disguise slaps a collar bomb on Amuro, and Conan steps in to defuse that bomb. Down in this secret hideout, Conan gets the lowdown on an incident from three years ago when Amuro and his police academy friends ran into this virtual bomber named "Plamya" in Shibuya. As Conan and his squad start digging deeper, things start to get really dark.

    The Raven Chaser

The Raven Chaser is also lauded by many Detective Conan fans and anime fans in general to be among the best Detective Conan movies of all time. It's also the thirteenth installment of the series, marking an important trademark in its long run.

So what is the plot of The Raven Chaser? The events unfurling in the movie are pretty straightforward. In The Raven Chaser, Conan attempts to investigate the murder of a man whose brakes were removed, forcing him to smash into a toll plaza. However, the man's cryptic words and the baccarat tile discovered next to his corpse indicate that something more sinister is at play. In reality, it appears that the homicide is connected to other criminals in Tokyo. And adding insult to injury, the sinister Black Organization is involved in the case!

The Raven Chaser was so critically acclaimed that it was nominated the Best Animated Movie at the Japanese Awards Show, and it is not difficult to see why. The film's narrative is filled with mystery, action, and drama. It is also an excellent opportunity to see Conan's adversary, the Black Organisation, in action. In 2009, the film was released on DVD and Blu-ray in Japan and certain European countries.

  6. People are still waiting for Detective Conan and Sherlock Holmes to have a crossover movie. Though that day still hasn't come yet, we could say that The Phantoms of Baker Street takes a rather distinctive approach to that cross-over!

In the movie, Hiroki Sawada, a kid prodigy, has created an artificial intelligence named Noah's Ark. When Noah's Ark leaps from a building, though, everyone considers it a suicide and forgets about it.

A few years later, Schindler Inc. introduced the Cocoon virtual reality gaming system. When Conan and some children test the game, however, Noah's Ark seizes control and threatens that he will murder the children in the actual world if they do not beat one of its games. Conan chooses to play a mystery game based on Sherlock Holmes, in which he must find Jack the Ripper.

Seeing Conan in a typical London environment is so much fun, and despite the silliness of the virtual reality technology, the film is a delightful adventure! Also, there are not many chances where we can see Conan's father, Yusaku Kudo, do detective work on his own, and this movie provides one of those rare chances for us audience!

The Phantoms of Baker Street was also the last Detective Conan movie that received dubbing from FUNimation Entertainment. Hence, you can receive a dubbed DVD release in the United States. With exciting storylines and shocking twists, we can say that The Phantoms of Baker Street is among the best Detective Conan movies of all time.

    Captured in Her Eyes

Another notable Detective Conan movie is Captured In Her Eyes, the fourth long movie of the famous series Detective Conan. Like its other counterparts, this movie also receives lots of success both financially and critically, deserving to earn its place on our list.

So what is the plot of Captured in Her Eyes? At the start of Captured in Her Eyes, Conan and his companions witness a murder - just like any other Detective Conan movie. And when a policeman is murdered by a guy armed with an umbrella pistol, the gang must pursue the offender to save the day!

During this mess, Ran Mouri also witnesses a second murder and has a clear glimpse of the perpetrator. However, she develops amnesia and soon becomes the next target of the criminal.

This case is far more grounded than subsequent cases in the series. The mystery is intriguing and well-conceived, but Ran's amnesia is what makes this film so brilliant. The film does an excellent job of exploring her connection with Shinichi Kudou and how his transformation into Conan has impacted them both.

Captured in Her Eyes, like the rest of the earlier Detective Conan films, received dubbing by FUNimation Productions and was published on CDs in some other western countries.
