"A Moment to Remember", the epitome of Korean romance movies and one of the best Korean movies to date, is a deeply touching love story centered on Su-jin, a fashion designer and the daughter of a construction company's CEO, and Chul-soo, a construction worker who works as a contract laborer at Su-jin father's company.
Su-jin is enamored by Chul-soo's masculinity and they marry, despite the fact that Chul-soo intends to be an architect one day. Su-jin's amnesia progresses to Alzheimer's disease, and Chul-soo's life comes crashing down since the lady he loves no longer remembers him. It's a straightforward story told with love, and John H. Lee's direction is endearingly straightforward yet profoundly poignant. Jung Woo-sung and Son Ye-jin are genuinely outstanding in their parts, delivering performances of incredible depth and emotional complexity. The film was based on the Japanese television drama "Pure Soul" and it has since inspired countless remakes.

Son Ye-jin plays Joo-hee, the mother, and Ji-hye, the daughter, in two separate timeframes, and their individual forays into love and relationships. As Ji-hye reads her mother's letters and reflects on her own love and relationship experiences from decades ago, she encounters similar occurrences that happen to her under the same circumstances and in similar places.
While the outcomes differ, everything leads to the same conclusion: Ji-hye falls in love with Joon- ha's son, and Joon-ha is Joo hee's ex-lover. "Maundy Thursday" is a wonderful narrative about a convict Yun-soo who is awaiting execution and makes a highly intimate bond with a young suicidal woman Yu-jeong who is visiting the prison with her aunt Sister Monica. Given that Yun-soo and Yu-jeong both had a painful upbringing and a troubled background, it is only natural for them to connect and form an emotional tie with one another.
The sheer emotional intensity of the story propels the film's perfectly designed narrative forward, and director Song Hae-ability sung's to reach out to his audience in simple ways without unnecessary emotional manipulation is genuinely extraordinary. The characters are richly detailed, and emotions are at the heart of this treasure of a film. It’s a film that must be watched for its astonishing simplicity and heartbreaking honesty.

"Be With You", one of the most recent K Movies on this list, is an approved remake of a Japanese film of the same name. "Be With You", starring Son Ye-jin, one of the best South Korean actresses working today, is an absurd narrative story about Soo-ah, who, on her deathbed, makes a promise to her husband Woo-jin to return to him a year later on a rainy day. A year later, while Woo-jin hasn't forgotten her pledge, he still has to look after his kid Ji-ho and go about his daily life.
Soo-ah returns to her family, as promised, but she has little memory of them, which is both heartbreaking and problematic. "Be With You" features more fantasy components than romance, although it doesn't rely on the fantasy element for long and moves along quickly. This movie is a great marriage of Japanese narrative and Korean filming style.

"More Than Blue" is the story of K, a terminally sick man who genuinely loves his childhood lover Cream but keeps it hidden and continues to hunt for a good marriage for her so that she will not be alone after his death. As it turns out, he never confesses his affections for her until the very end, when she's set to marry Joo-hwan, with whom Cream has seemingly fallen in love in order to placate K.
After K and Cream declare their love for each other, and Cream marries Joo-hwan, it is subsequently revealed that after K's death, Cream committed suicide in order to be with her beloved. The primary performances are highly developed and thoroughly convincing, and although most melodramas go crazy, this one is surprisingly moving. It's a gorgeously poignant and heartbreakingly delicate piece of intimate romance that will undoubtedly touch your heart.

This high-concept rom-com, based on Intel and Toshiba's 2012 social film "The Beauty Inside", tells the story of a man who wakes up in a different body and assumes different physiologies every day – like an old woman, a child, a middle-aged man, a foreigner – but the only constant in his life is the woman he loves.
Despite the several personas he portrays on a daily basis, he is still the same on the inside and has the same consciousness. His secret is only known to himself and the lady he loves, who likewise loves him despite who he is. The fantasy element in the film works well, and it simply demonstrates how we as humans love individuals for who they are, regardless of their physical appearance. The overall joyful tone of 'The Beauty Inside' seems genuinely refreshing.

"A Werewolf Boy", arguably one of the best Korean films of the twentieth century, is the ideal blend of fantasy, romance, and melodrama. It tells the narrative of an elderly woman, Sun-yi, who is describing one of her childhood visits to a cottage where she helps an orphan kid, names him Chul-soo, and raises him as one of her own. The youngster has striking similarities to a werewolf, including a higher-than-normal body temperature, agility, and an unknown blood type.
Chul-soo and Sun-yi quickly fall in love, but they never speak again until now, 47 years later. The vision of director Jo Sung-hee is remarkably powerful and polished, and it's amazing how a single picture can elicit so many emotions in you. Melodrama is rarely intoxicating, but this is one of the rarest of rare cases where it plays a key role in driving the narrative.
