    Honma

Honma is by far the largest and most famous Japanese manufacturer, and for good reason. Honma has been a massive supplier of the highest quality handmade clubs for decades. Demand is often so high that Honma cannot meet production requirements. This is a disadvantage if they are individually produced in Sakata, Japan rather than fully industrial production in China.

Honma is also famous for the Beres series. A set of Beres irons can be purchased for over €3,000, even in the cheapest version. Also, a five-star set can cost nearly 50,000 euros. Then the mace is decorated with gold, and the shaft is of very high quality, incomparable to anything else. The Beres shafts are handcrafted by Honma and are very light and smooth, yet have very good torque values. This is what makes the Beres Club special.

However, Honma also rises to popularity through the Tour World series, which has also featured Justin Rose as a brand ambassador since the beginning of 2019. The new Tour Worlds deliver the usual Honma quality, handforged soft steel irons for relatively little money. Starting from 1109€ you can already get a complete iron set of 5PW and that with high quality shafts without surcharges.

    Miura

If you are looking for a traditional Japanese manufacturer, your first choice is by far the Miura. Miura is a relatively small forge in Japan founded by Katsuhiro Miura. Miura started forging golf clubs at the age of 16, and at least in his opinion, his original employer discovered a few mistakes during the forging process. That is why he started his own business and founded Miura, one of the most famous manufacturers of high-quality forged products. Miura doesn't insist on things it doesn't 100% own. So you can only find Miura irons and clubs. They leave the forest and drivers to others.

The Miura is only recently trying to "specialize" in marketing and sales, increasing awareness in Europe and North America. With Avraham Unser, the first pros already have a Miura stick. This is the first address for those looking for a special Japanese traditional handmade iron.

    Vega

Vega Golf is definitely not everyone's familiar and not as well known as Honma or Miura. Vega, unlike Miura, is a small Japanese forging that also makes scaffolding and drivers. The Vega is slightly cheaper than the Miura, but less exclusive. There is no marketing behind Vega yet, so it will remain an insider tip for years to come.

The Vega, however, is exactly what you would expect from a Japanese manufacturer. And we at ExactGolf like to build clubs with Vega heads. They are manufactured with extreme precision and are delivered with an accuracy of one tenth of a gram. This is crucial in order to be able to build golf clubs that fit exactly.
