When you think of Copacabana, you probably immediately think of the famous beach in Brazil. But Bolivia has its own Copacabana! The word means the view of the lake in its native language, and the town is excellent with the beauty of the vast Lake Titicaca. It's a beautiful, quaint city, with several luxury resorts and modest inns that you can choose from. There's also great food here, so make sure you head to one of their local restaurants for a bite.

Located on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the largest lake in South America and the highest elevation lake in the world, Copacabana Bolivia is an idyllic town rich in history and legend. Located in the heart of the sacred Incas, Lake Titicaca has long been favored as a place of reverence and worship. The lake's deep blue waters dominate the folk landscape attracts a curious mix of domestic and international visitors.

There's plenty to entertain adventurers and amateur anthropologists alike with opportunities to explore on the water and on foot.

Challapampa is a small town on the island of Isla del Sol in the center of Lake Titicaca. It boasts beautiful beaches with crystal clear turquoise waters that make you feel like you're by the ocean. One of the biggest attractions is Roca Sagrada, where the Incas performed sacrifices. You can enjoy breathtaking views filled with magical energy.

All you need to do is hike for 2 hours, and you can enjoy the view of the water from the top of the hill. There is also the Museo del Oro, or gold museum, where you can enjoy a collection of artefacts found underwater in the city of Marka Ampathe. It will be a surreal experience where you can enjoy the beaches and snow-capped mountains in the background. The rooms here are modest but very comfortable, with private hostels and dormitories.

Another beautiful lake located in Bolivia, Concepcion lake, is also a natural habitat rich with excellent wildlife. It has been designated as a World Heritage Site since 2002. Lake Concepcion has a high elevation, about 250 meters. So it will be a bit chilly compared to your usual beaches.

The lake is one of the most important bodies of water in the eastern part of Santa Cruz Province, especially for wintering migratory birds from both the northern and southern hemispheres as well as large mammals.

One of the attractions here is the Laguna Concepcion, or lagoon, where you can lounge on the shore and enjoy the soothing waves. Make sure you also enjoy the local food here. There are plenty of modest hostels to choose from in Chiquitos Province.

Madidi National Park is home to the most amazing flora and fauna. The Amazon River passes through here, and you can enjoy its riverside views or even take a cruise through here. If you're bored of the riverside, you can always hike through the rainforest and enjoy the views of the ice-covered peaks of the Andes.

There is also the smaller Tuichi River which is also home to the most diverse collection of animals. You can book your accommodation in sustainable hostels around Madidi National Park, like Chalalan Ecolodge. As it is a protected area, make sure you are always mindful of your surroundings and never disturb the natural habitat.

The dry season (April to October) is the best time to visit because transportation is easy, and wildlife tends to congregate around the rivers, where you can easily spot them. Inside the park, the wetter months are lush, if not a bit soggy, but be aware that mosquitoes will be active.

Lake Tumichucua is a natural landmark located in the heart of the Amazon forest. On the shores of the lake, there is a community of farmers with the same name. In front, there is an island that inspired the name of this place because Tumichucua comes from the Takana dialect, which means "Island of the Motacuses," which refers to the Palm of Motacú (Attalea phalerata) abound on the island and its vicinity. To this day, the island has preserved its natural wealth with a diversity of palm trees, giant trees, and all kinds of animals.

The community of Tumichucua is built on the shores of this lake and is of great beauty with tropical gardens, rustic buildings, and stunning views of the lake and island. The community has a rich history. Many archaeological remains dated from the polychromatic period about 4000 years ago.

Be aware that it may only be available for day trips, and you might be staying nearby inland instead. It is one of the most secluded places in Bolivia and is one of the must-visits if you enjoy indigenous culture and nature walks.
