Known as one of the Caribbean's art capitals, Haiti isn't the first place people think of when looking for a beach vacation these days. It's known for its ... read more...

  1. Labadee, Haiti is Royal Caribbean's private yacht resort with all the beach attractions, water sports, and fun activities travelers expect. Private island destinations are famous harbors for Caribbean cruises, but Labadee, Haiti is quite different. This 260-acre resort is located on a coastal peninsula rather than a private island.

Labadee locates in the North of Haiti, about a 45-minute drive from the nearest major city, Cap-Haitien. Many travels end with Labadee (or Labadie), and there's good reason for that.

The resort itself is completely fenced off, and it's a great location if you just want to relax. The sea here is beautiful and calm, an ideal place for you to spend the day lounging and swimming lightly in the afternoon. It has four beautiful white sand beaches and warm Caribbean waters, perfect for swimming and water sports.

If you're looking for something a little more adrenaline-pumping, you can try the Dragon's Breath zip line on the water, which is the longest-running water zip line in the entire world. But other than that, the area is for relaxation, which is what most people come here to do.

  2. If you head East along the coast from Labadee, you will eventually reach Cormier. Here you will find the hotel described as unique in the North of Haiti, and it has exclusive access to the beach there.

As you would expect from a beach in this location, one of the most impressive things that it has to offer is the astonishing views. The water here is also very clear, beautiful, and warm. It is also really well maintained and clean all year round.

The good news is that if you want to get here from Cap-Haitien, the road between the two has been paved recently. It means you won't have a super bumpy ride, which you'll likely encounter in most other parts of Haiti.

Overall, it's worth going to Cormier Plage if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the North of Haiti.

  3. Wahoo Bay Beach is part of a resort located north of Port-au-Prince. It's a romantic destination that offers opportunities for adventures like kayaking, snorkeling, and rock climbing. Rent a chair and sit on the beach to soak up the beauty of the Caribbean and the surrounding green mountains. The clean sands and epic views of Sunrise and Sunset over Wahoo Bay Beach make it a great destination. Wahoo Bay Beach has a stunning coastline that comes in at number one.

Wahoo Bay Beach is one of the top 10 beaches in Haiti. Wahoo Bay Beach provides the perfect backdrop for relaxing romantic escapes, productive business trips, adventurous family gateways, and unforgettable events. Beautiful beach, blue and clean water. Even a day's visit is worth it.

Around the world, Wahoo Bay Beach is known for its interesting coastline. There is a lovely stretch of shoreline at Wahoo Bay Beach, and most of them are perfect and quiet. Wahoo Bay Beach is serene and included in the majority of the gauges, and it celebrates a bit of the best coastline on the planet.

  4. Considered one of the best beaches in Haiti, Port-Salut is a popular destination not only for tourists but also for Haitian locals. Located in the South-west of the country, it is a great place to visit with the many smaller beaches along this coast.

A good example is Pointe Sable beach, which has beautiful turquoise and white sand beaches. The sand here is nice and smooth, and there are some nice restaurant shacks here if you need to find something to eat (with some of the best seafood in the area also here).

Although it's still not very busy here, it seems that the area is slowly becoming a popular destination. More and more hotels and bars are being built along the Port-Salut area, meaning it's likely that there will soon be some great resorts to visit here.

It will take you about 5 hours by car to get here from the capital, which is one of the main reasons it's not so busy yet. But if you want some of the top secluded beaches that Haiti has to offer, then you can find several beyond the commune of Port-Salut.

  5. Haiti's south coast is home to some of the best sunsets in the world. One of the best places to see this is Jacmel, about a 3-hour drive from Port au Prince.

It is not the best beach to go to if you are looking for a casual swim. The currents can be a little strong here, and it can be a bit rough for those who want to get their feet wet. It's a better beach for surfing than for relaxing.

But along this beach, you will be able to see some pretty amazing sunrises and sunsets. It is a fascinating area, and it's nice to walk along the harbor at Jacmel or along the boardwalk.

So overall, while the actual beach itself isn't that great, the view and tranquil atmosphere will be what many people are looking for.
