The Bangtan Boys, popularly known as BTS, is a seven-member boy band formed by Big Hit Entertainment. With the song "No More Dream" from their debut album 2 Cool 4 Skool, BTS made their public debut on June 12, 2013. "Wing" was the BTS's first album to reach a million sales mark in South Korea.

By 2017, BTS had established themselves in the international music market, bringing the Korean Wave to America and setting a number of sales records. They were also the first Korean group to receive a certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for their song "Mic Drop". BTS is the first Korean act to top the Billboard 200 with their studio album "Love Yourself: Tear". They also hit the top of the U.S. charts with their albums "Love Yourself: Answer" and "Map of the Soul: Persona", making BTS the first group since The Beatles to earn three number one albums in less than a year.

BLACKPINK is an internationally acclaimed girl group formed under YG Entertainment. They made their digital single album "Square One" debut on August 8, 2016, and they quickly became one of the most well-known and loved artists of their generation.

The music video for their song "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" was the most watched Korean music video on YouTube in the first 24 hours after its debut, and in January 2019, it surpassed all other K-pop groups in terms of views. Their song "How You Like That" broke the previous record in June 2020 and also became the most-watched YouTube video in the first 24 hours. Not just that, this BLACKPINK members' social media following is also breaking records in these times. After the members of BLACKPINK had their successful debuts, they not only released their albums but also continued to make their debuts with some of the greatest artists of all time, including Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, Cardi B, and others.

The nine-member boy band EXO is well-known and was formed by SM Entertainment. With the release of their mini album Mama on April 12, 2012, they made their official debut. EXO became one of the most well-known artists not just in South Korea but also internationally with the release of their debut studio album "XOXO". They won numerous honors both domestically and internationally, broke numerous records, and earned strong brand deals.

EXO initially debuted with twelve members and was divided into two groups: EXO-K, which specialized in South Korean content, and EXO-M, a Chinese-focused unit. On May 26, 2015, the group made their official debut as a thirteen-member group with the release of the mini-album 17 Carat with the title track "Adore U". They were also the first male K-Pop group to make their debut with a live showcase that lasted an hour on a major television network, having been televised by MBC. They have become one of their generation's most well-loved artists of their generation over the years. The group completed their first world tour, 2017 Seventeen 1st World Tour Diamond Edge visiting thirteen cities across Asia and North America on October 6, 2017.

Red Velvet is a five-member girl group under SM Entertainment. On August 1, 2014, they made their group debut with the song "Happiness". Yeri joined the group in 2015, following the release of their first mini album, "Ice Cream Cake".

TWICE is a nine-member girl group under JYP Entertainment. They were formed through the competition reality show SIXTEEN, and on October 20, 2015, they made their official debut with the release of the mini album "The Story Begins".

On October 7, 2015, JYP launched the group's official website and posted on social media that e group would debut with the mini album The Story Begins with "Like Ooh-Ahh" as the title track. Within five months of their debut, the title track's music video had 50 million views, making it the most-watched debut music video for a K-pop group. Later, one of the first K-pop groups to have their debut music video surpass 100 million views. TWICE became well-known in 2016 because of the success of their single "Cheer Up", which peaked at #1 on the Gaon Digital Chart and was the year's best-performing single.

NCT is a boy group under SM Entertainment. The group's members are split up into multiple sub-units to be based in major cities around the world. Their name stands for "Neo Culture Technology".

The group was introduced on January 27 by Lee Soo Man, the founder of SM Entertainment, at a press conference "SMTown: New Culture Technology 2016" at SM's Coex Artium. According to the announcement, different teams will be debuted based in different countries around the world. In order to facilitate the movement of members and new recruits into the groups, various collaborations and units formed between the different groups. There won't be a predetermined amount of members for these groups too.

iKON is a boy band formed in 2015 by YG Entertainment. All of the current members of the group, with the exception of Chan, were first introduced as "Team B" in the reality survival program WIN: Who is Next. The next year, Team B participated in the reality survival show Mix & Match, which led to the decision of the final seven members of iKON: B.I, Bobby, Jay, Ju-ne, Song, DK, and Chan.

Their debut studio album Welcome Back (2015) reached the top of the South Korean Gaon Album Chart. With the album selling over 260,000 copies in Asia and the songs selling over 4.8 million copies, it was a commercial success that earned the group numerous awards from major Asian music award shows.

The seven-member boy band GOT7 was formed by JYP Entertainment. The band is international, with members from South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, and the United States. Before joining GOT7, members JB and Jinyoung (formerly Junior) had their stage debut as a duo. Members Jackson, Mark, Bambam, and Yugyeom also made a brief appearance on WIN: Who Is Next, a reality survival show.

On January 16, 2014, they made their official debut with the song "Girls Girls Girls". The music video for the song received more than a million views in only two days. A few days later, the group's mini-album "Got It?" was made available. On the Billboard World Albums Chart, it peaked at number one. The group's contract with JYP Entertainment ended in January 2021. Seven of the members collectively decided not to renew and left the company. The members of GOT7 have assured fans that the group has not broken up and that they would continue to make songs together in the future even if they are now pursuing solo projects. On May 23, 2022, GOT7 make their comeback with the self-titled "EP, GOT7".

MAMAMOO is a girl group formed under RBW. They released the pre-debut singles "Don't Be Happy", "Peppermint Chocolate", and "Heeheehaheho" before making their official debut on June 19, 2014 with the extended play "Hello" and the single "Mr. Ambiguous".

The group's vocal talents and use of various musical genres throughout their discography are what make them most well-known. Each member of the group has a successful solo career. MAMAMOO now has two studio albums, one compilation album, eleven extended plays, and two single albums. For their Japanese discography, they have one studio album, one compilation album, two extended plays, and two single albums.
