    The nine-member boy band EXO is well-known and was formed by SM Entertainment. With the release of their mini album Mama on April 12, 2012, they made their official debut.     On May 26, 2015, the group made their official debut as a thirteen-member group with the release of the mini-album 17 Carat with the title track "Adore U". They were also the first male K-Pop group to make their debut with a live showcase that lasted an hour on a major television network, having been televised by MBC.     TWICE is a nine-member girl group under JYP Entertainment. They were formed through the competition reality show SIXTEEN, and on October 20, 2015, they made their official debut with the release of the mini album "The Story Begins".


    On October 7, 2015, JYP launched the group's official website and posted on social media that e group would debut with the mini album The Story Begins with "Like Ooh-Ahh" as the title track. Within five months of their debut, the title track's music video had 50 million views, making it the most-watched debut music video for a K-pop group. Later, one of the first K-pop groups to have their debut music video surpass 100 million views.     NCT is a boy group under SM Entertainment. The group's members are split up into multiple sub-units to be based in major cities around the world. Their name stands for "Neo Culture Technology".


    The group was introduced on January 27 by Lee Soo Man, the founder of SM Entertainment, at a press conference "SMTown: New Culture Technology 2016" at SM's Coex Artium. According to the announcement, different teams will be debuted based in different countries around the world. In order to facilitate the movement of members and new recruits into the groups, various collaborations and units formed between the different groups. There won't be a predetermined amount of members for these groups too.

    iKON

    iKON is a boy band formed in 2015 by YG Entertainment. All of the current members of the group, with the exception of Chan, were first introduced as "Team B" in the reality survival program WIN: Who is Next. The next year, Team B participated in the reality survival show Mix & Match, which led to the decision of the final seven members of iKON: B.I, Bobby, Jay, Ju-ne, Song, DK, and Chan.


    Their debut studio album Welcome Back (2015) reached the top of the South Korean Gaon Album Chart.     The seven-member boy band GOT7 was formed by JYP Entertainment. The band is international, with members from South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, and the United States. Before joining GOT7, members JB and Jinyoung (formerly Junior) had their stage debut as a duo. Members Jackson, Mark, Bambam, and Yugyeom also made a brief appearance on WIN: Who Is Next, a reality survival show.
