  2. The Curacao Carnival was organized by a group of Venezuelans who were visiting the island temporarily. According to "De Curaçaosche Courant" in 1901, the festivities took place in an exclusive elite club. According to oral history sources, "The Jolly Fellows Society" was the driving force behind the first carnival celebrations on the streets, which took place in 1947.

Although Carnival lasts nearly a month, the most memorable moments are concentrated in two major parades: the Gran Marcha and the Marcha di Despedida.

The most noteworthy moments of Carnival are concentrated in two large parades: the Gran Marcha (The Grand Parade) and the Marcha di Despedida (The Farewell March). During the Gran Marcha, tourists and residents alike throng the streets to cheer on the parade of costumed dancers and performers. The Children's and Teen's Carnival Parades join the Gran Marcha, making it a fun and family-friendly event.

Consider a festival in which Curaçao's already bright streets bloom, creating a dazzling tapestry of colors, music, and merriment. Traditional music wafts through town, accompanied by jubilant talk and the tantalizing aromas of regional cuisine. The music and mirth are complemented by elaborate costumes and similarly complex floats, as well as colors that rival the Caribbean's dazzling turquoise waters. Carnival is the occasion.

Though carnivals can be found all over the world, Curaçao hosts the largest and longest-running Carnival events in the Caribbean. Curaçao has remained one of the southern Caribbean's best-kept secrets, as has its vibrant Carnival season. Until recently.

  4. Saying goodbye to the year with 'pagaras' is one of Curaçao's most popular traditions. Pagaras are firework rolls that span entire streets. Fireworks are used to ward off previous evils and to usher in the New Year. Almost every bar and restaurant in the vicinity contributes to making the Pagara event as successful as it is. 6. The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta began in 1980 as the St. Maarten Regatta, with only 12 yachts competing. Heineken became a significant sponsor of the St. Maarten Regatta three years later, in 1983, and the event's name was changed to 'Heineken'. Heineken paid a price of 3,750 guilders (about $ 2,100) to participate. While racing, the contestants were treated to ice-cold Heineken beers from a passing powerboat.

In 2005, the Commodore's Cup was added as another racing day. In 2008, 284 boats competed in the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, breaking the previous record.

During the Heineken Regatta, there are numerous arranged events, including performances by globally known performers. To put it another way, this is an event for every sailing fan, as well as anyone else.

  8. The act of painting outside, or En Plein Air, is known as Plein Air painting. This method differs from studio painting or academic norms, which can result in a predefined appearance. Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes (1750–1819) is credited with developing the concept of landscape portraiture in a treatise entitled Reflections and Advice to a Student on Painting, Particularly on Landscape (1800), where he developed the concept of painting directly onto canvas in situ within the landscape.

Painters present their interpretation/art of Curaçao in the form of a painting during the Plein Air festival. These paintings feature the elements of air, land, and sea. Some paintings are created underwater, while others are created on a mountain top. The Plein Air Festival's purpose is to capture the beauty of Curaçao and sell these paintings all over the world. Workshops for (potential) artists are also offered. Plein Air is one of the most famous festivals in Curaçao, and it is a must-see for art enthusiasts.
