Acer

Acer Inc., founded in 1976 and based in Xizhi, New Taipei City, is a multinational hardware and electronics firm specializing in cutting-edge electronics technologies. It sells desktop PCs, laptops (clamshells, 2-in-1s, convertibles, and Chromebooks), tablets, servers, storage devices, virtual reality devices, screens, cellphones, and peripherals. As of September 2022, Acer has become the world's fifth-largest PC vendor in terms of unit sales.

Acer adopted a new business model in the early 2000s, changing its focus from manufacturing to product design, marketing, and distribution while outsourcing manufacturing to third parties. Acer has just launched a new business unit dedicated to the development of smartphones and wearable devices with value-added Internet of Things applications, as well as the integration of cloud services and platforms.
