WIN Semiconductors
Win Semiconductors, founded in 1999, is the leading foundry for semiconductor components made from materials other than silicon, such as gallium arsenide, gallium nitride, and silicon carbide. Strategy Analytics predicts that by 2021, Win Semi will control over 77% of the GaAs foundry industry, with AWSC coming in at 10.5% and GCS Holdings, Inc. at 3.4%. Most of the company's 3,500 workers and headquarters may be found in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.
The company's wares can be found in places like mobile networks, Wi-Fi hotspots, cellular infrastructure (including base stations), satellite transmission, optical transmission, and even 3D sensing. In addition, they offer automated inspection and testing services. In response to the rising need for efficient production of high-speed and high-quality GaAs MMIC's (monolithic microwave ICs) and RFIC's (radio frequency ICs), WIN Semiconductors Corp. has set up three state-of-the-art GaAs wafer fabs.
