Agriculture and Forestry University

Agriculture and Forestry University is a non-profit public higher education institution in the Bagmati Pradesh medium city of Bharatpur (population range of 250,000-499,999). Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU), which is officially recognized by Nepal's Ministry of Education, is a coeducational Nepalese higher education institution.

It was established by a bill passed by the Nepalese Parliament in June 2010 that merged two constituent campuses of Tribhuvan University: the Rampur Agriculture Campus of the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science and the Forestry Campus, Hetauda of the Institute of Forestry in Hetauda, Makwanpur. Through teaching, research, and extension programs across the country, the university promotes agricultural workforce development and research in agriculture, forestry, and allied disciplines.

Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) provides programs and courses that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees in a variety of fields of study. AFU also provides students with academic and non-academic facilities and services, such as a library and administrative services.
