Al Mamzar Beach Park

Al Mamzar is a great beach for families. There are four beach sections in the public park, all staffed with lifeguards. A picnic area, a children's playground, and two huge swimming pools are available. Everything is free and open to the public.

Mondays and Wednesdays are ladies' days, so only women, girls, and boys under the age of four are permitted. The entrance charge at Al Mamzar is AED 5 (about $1.50). Those with special needs and children under the age of two are admitted free of charge. Fridays are the busiest days at the park (weekends in Dubai are Fridays and Saturdays). Showers, restrooms, and changing rooms are available, as well as sunbed and umbrella rentals. Make a day of it by renting small air-conditioned beach tents with barbecues. Al Mamzar Open Beach (as opposed to Al Mamzar Beach Park) is another beach location that offers a more natural beach experience with fewer people (and no entry fee). Al Mamzar is close to Deira, which is a great destination to visit for sightseeing because it's the original heart of Dubai.
