JBR Open Beach

The massive JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residence) Open Beach spans the whole JBR district. Although certain areas are reserved for hotels, the majority are available to the public. Every few hundred yards, there are full restrooms (that are kept spotless clean) and places to buy food and snacks.

The water is a warm and gorgeous blue-green color, and the sand is fluffy white and powdery soft. There are lifeguards on duty, and buoys mark off specified swimming areas. There is no real surf or current, and the shallow region, which is about four feet deep and extends well beyond the beach, is ideal for wading and simply relaxing in the warm water. JBR Open Beach (and all of Dubai's public beaches) are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Swimming is not permitted after sunset, even though the beach is open all night. The Beach JBR has separate changing rooms for men and women. The best thing is that it's completely free! There is no admission charge to the JBR public beach to visit this area.
