Al Saleh Mosque
The Al Saleh Mosque is a must-see for anyone visiting Yemen for the first time. It is the country's largest mosque and Sana'a's modern center of prayer. This mosque is located on the edges of the capital city's southern suburbs. It is next to the Al Sabeen maternal hospital, which is a popular place of worship. The site for the construction of this majestic and gorgeous mosque was sold by the late president Ali Abdullah. In 2008, the mosque was renamed al Saleh Mosque or The People's Mosque. It was built in 2008 and is a mix of Islamic and Yemeni architectural traditions.
It is available to individuals of all faiths, but security is a major issue, therefore visitors must go through a comprehensive security check before entering. Visitors can, however, enjoy the views of the mosque and its surroundings once inside. This gorgeous mosque is not to be missed. The city is home to the Middle East's largest mosque, which is an important element of Sana'a's old city. This building is said to date from the 7th century and was constructed from the remnants of the Ghumdan Palace. The establishment of the mosque is linked to the prophet Mohammad, who has a significant cultural significance.
