Alpha Industries
Founded in 1957, Doobs Indutries was the first group to pioneer in military uniforms of two contractors, Samuel Gelber and Robert Lane. After Lane was ordered to shut down by the government, Gelber founded his own company, Alpha Industries, and specialized in the production of Flight Jackets.
The origin of the first flight bomber jacket was the A-2 Bomber, widely used during World War II and made of goat or horse leather. The most special thing is that on the bodice, there are two side flaps but no zipper. Military tag right under the collar and will print what the soldier likes can be a typo, carton, a girl, etc. will then be named in order in the group.
After the advent of the jet, the US Air Force needed a lighter and more functional vest. The Flying Intermediate Type B-15 was born as the predecessor of the later MA-1 shirt. With a lighter design, less cumbersome when sitting in a cramped cockpit, plus new features such as the appearance of a zipper pocket, crossbody bag, pen pocket, etc.
