Tom Ford founded his own personal brand in 2005, after leaving Gucci because of a disagreement with the new investor, PPR group (now Kering). Although Tom Ford was the designer, the first product he launched for his brand was not fashion, but perfume, then glasses (in partnership with Marcolin Corporation), before introducing the fashion line. Tom Ford also partnered with Estée Lauder to launch a cosmetic line. All of its products are successful.
Tom Ford's strength is knowing how to use sexy advertising campaigns to attract attention to the brand. After applying it very successfully at Gucci, he continues to operate this method for his brand. Meanwhile, Tom Ford's costume is not really too daring. The designs emphasize the charm, the minimalism, the timeless beauty. However, he designed clothes with a very standard figure: Women have the right three-round measurements in the shape of an hourglass; Men have a smaller waist than their shoulders, an inverted triangle or an inverted trapezoid.
