Amano Christian School
Amano Christian School, or ACS, is an international school in Zambia. ACS has about 148 students and 22 teaching staff, and it hires teachers from other countries yearly. It has been operating since 2004 and is considered one of the top international schools in Zambia. The school started when missionaries Philip Grove and Michael Pflaum felt led by the Lord to begin a new project.
The idea was to create a school that would offer secondary education to the children of missionaries and others leaving Sakeji Mission School in the North West Province of Zambia, with whom ACS closely cooperates. The vision expanded to include primary students and to serve other Christian families and those who desire a Christian education. The establishment of Amano did not depend on any single mission. Philip serves with Christian Brethren (CMML), and Michael serves with Liebenzell Mission in Zambia (LMI).
The current staff at ACS includes people serving with several evangelical bodies. Other organizations, such as Brass Tacks, have played a role in the practical development of the work at ACS. North Star Worldwide has assisted in distance learning when subject staff are unavailable.
Amano Christian School teaches from a Biblical perspective to help students successfully navigate life's challenges in Africa and beyond for the glory of God.
ACS aims to provide a high standard of education in the most crowded province of Zambia, enabling students to reach their full potential. Teaching from a Biblical perspective encourages all students to develop a lasting personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and become responsible community members.
