Animals were forced on people as a joke by Elagabalus

The "Whoopee cushion" is said to have been created by Elagabalus during his rule. Elagabalus invited folks to supper with him using this cuisine. Elagabalus started making jokes about them when they would arrive. Normal people did not engage in it. He had tamed lions and leopards, among other creatures. Elagabalus let the animals enter the party space after dinner gatherings. During the dessert course, he made an effort to push them toward the diners. Such occurrences easily irritated visitors and security personnel.

Elagabalus also engaged in other disruptive behaviors. He once gathered a ton of cigarettes and let them fly into the crowd, suffocating everyone. Elagabalus broke up regular gatherings of individuals to play games. He increased his dictatorship by using exotic creatures like camels or elephants to pull chariots through the streets. People were afraid to cross the street because of Elagabalus' infamous behavior.
