Elagabalus presented himself as a prostitute by dressing as a woman

Early in life, Elagabalus married three different women. But he was unable to remain with any of them for an extended amount of time. Both he and the Romans found his sexual proclivity difficult to grasp. He married his three wives in hopes of having godlike children or children, but none of the ladies produced any offspring for him. He preferred the company of a guy to that of a woman.

He cherished being referred to as Hierocles' mistress, wife, or queen. Hierocles was his fourth companion. He would put on a lady's outfit and apply cosmetics just like any other woman. He would put on a wig, rouge his cheeks, and paint his eyes to seem feminine. He was looking for a doctor because he wanted to have a female organ by having the male organ removed.

Elagabalus routinely went to brothels, drove to the prostitutes, and marketed himself as one. He had a private space in his palace where he could engage in immoral behavior. He would display his nakedness for all to see at the room's entrance. To attract males, he also built a common Roman bath.
