Dubbed the most expensive apple in the world, Sekai Ichi apples are grown in Japan and sold for more than $20 each in stores. Apple is bred for the first time in Morioka, but nowadays the apples are mainly grown in Aomori, Japan.
Each apple is larger than other apples and has a sweet, light taste, the inside of the apple has a crunchy, firm, and succulent texture. Apples are usually harvested in the fall to winter, to ensure the apple is shipped spotless the grower has washed it in honey and branded it by hand. Still, the Sekai Ichi apple is reasonably priced for those curious about it.
