Banco de Chile
Santiago serves as the home base for the Chilean bank and financial services corporation known as Banco de Chile (English: Bank of Chile). It is a commercial bank that offers customers a variety of financial services. Banco de Chile has a nationwide network of 434 branches, 1,915 ATMs, and other electronic means of distribution as of December 31, 2012.
After signing a cooperation agreement with Standard Chartered Bank on December 9, 2004, Banco de Chile became the first Chilean financial institution to conduct business in the Asian markets. The Chilean company Quiñenco group and the US bank Citigroup have shared control of it since 2008. Citigroup expanded its stake in LQIF to 50% by exercising its two unused options in April 2010.
Large corporations, SMEs, individual clients, consumer finance, international banking, and capital markets are the six primary commercial segments. Furthermore, subsidiaries provide securitization, securities brokerage, mutual investment and brokerage, insurance, and factoring, among other services. Outside of Chile, the bank has had a branch in New York City for over 20 years and has foreign branches in Miami, So Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and Hong Kong.
