Benguerra Island
The second place in the top 5 islands in Mozambique is the second largest island in Bazaruto Archipelago, Benguerra Island. It broke away from the mainland thousands of years ago. The island is 55 square kilometers in size and located 14 kilometers offshore. It was also given the name Santa Antonio by Portuguese explorers. Benguerra Island is known for its unspoiled beaches and opulent resorts that offer world-class diving and activities to visitors of all ages. Because the island is walled off from the rest of the country, you can expect to find a virtually undisturbed landscape of beaches with immaculate shoreline, crystal-clear water, and gracefully swaying palm palms, making it an even more appealing destination.
Come to Benguerra, visitors can enjoy an island nestled within a Marine National Park, with miles of beautiful white sand beaches, glistening turquoise waters crisscrossed by native dhows doing their trade, and sunny days and starry nights. This is the magical island getaway you've always dreamed of.
