Blanchisseuse Beach

Blanchisseuse, located about an hour north of Port of Spain, is a popular destination for vacationers looking for a weekend retreat or a lengthy day excursion. This beach offers far more than a tan and a short dip, with clean waters, fantastic hiking routes into the rainforest, and prime wildlife-watching for leatherback sea-turtles.

Blanchisseuse Beach is an excellent kayaking location where the Marianne River meets the bay. When you've had your fill of water activities, head over to the hiking track, which takes you through the magnificent rainforest and leads to a stunning waterfall.

There are two main beaches in this area, one of which is known as 'Damien's' or 'D One,' both of which are popular camping spots with neighboring rivers pouring into the ocean. Blanchisseuse is also a popular hiking destination, with trails leading to an adjacent waterfall, a rain forest, and river kayaking. There are also superb surfing conditions, as well as turtle and bird watching throughout the year. Blanchisseuse, despite its remote location, is a favorite weekend retreat for Trinbagonians, having plenty of holiday homes and guesthouses to accommodate visitors.
