  1. The half-moon-shaped Maracas Bay is home to a calm, well-kept beach surrounded by palm trees. This is a popular destination for day trips from Port of Spain—just think of the hour-long drive over the mountains as part of the adventure. Many revelers come here to recover from the yearly Carnival celebration, and it's always fun to partake in another local custom available from local beach shacks: Bake & Shark, a Trinidadian meal of deep-fried shark wrapped in a pocket of deep-fried bread.

It is a picture-perfect beach with a backdrop of dense forests and mountains. The deep bay and wide expanse of powdered sand provide plenty of space for everyone to unwind without feeling packed into a sandy sardine tin.

  2. Continue driving north beyond Maracas Bay to reach Las Cuevas (The Caves), which has modest surf, a snack bar, picnic tables, changing facilities, and showers, as well as lifeguards on duty every day. In addition, as the name implies, there are a number of little caverns ideal for exploring and avoiding the strong sunshine if sunbathing isn't your thing.

In contrast to Maracas Bay, which is about 10 to 15 minutes away, the seas here are calmer and attract sea bathers who like the 80-centimeter breakers. It is also less busy and more private than Maracas Bay. It's a sheltered horseshoe bay that offers wind protection, making it a perfect swimming spot. However, between November and April, surfing is typically done on the western end, with waves reaching as high as 1. 5 meters. If you're not up for the baking and shark frenzy as you make your way here, there's a restaurant near the car park that sells local fare.

  3. Blanchisseuse, located about an hour north of Port of Spain, is a popular destination for vacationers looking for a weekend retreat or a lengthy day excursion. This beach offers far more than a tan and a short dip, with clean waters, fantastic hiking routes into the rainforest, and prime wildlife-watching for leatherback sea-turtles.

Blanchisseuse Beach is an excellent kayaking location where the Marianne River meets the bay. When you've had your fill of water activities, head over to the hiking track, which takes you through the magnificent rainforest and leads to a stunning waterfall.

There are two main beaches in this area, one of which is known as 'Damien's' or 'D One,' both of which are popular camping spots with neighboring rivers pouring into the ocean. Blanchisseuse is also a popular hiking destination, with trails leading to an adjacent waterfall, a rain forest, and river kayaking. There are also superb surfing conditions, as well as turtle and bird watching throughout the year. Blanchisseuse, despite its remote location, is a favorite weekend retreat for Trinbagonians, having plenty of holiday homes and guesthouses to accommodate visitors.

  4. Pigeon Point, also known as Pigeon Point Heritage Park (PPHP), is Tobago's most beautiful beach and is home to the world famous thatch-roofed jetty, which has become an internationally recognized Tobago signature. A long stretch of white sand beach with warm aquamarine waters is part of the resort. There are excellent beach facilities, including restrooms, showers, and beach chair rentals, as well as bars and a restaurant. Souvenir and water-sports shops are among the tourist attractions.

Pigeon Point Beach has the kind of postcard-perfect paradise-like scenery you see on postcards. Coconut trees line the sand, warm turquoise waters protected by the Buccoo Reef, and charming restaurants are just a few of the things that draw people to this beach.

There's a wooden jetty extending from the shore that's said to be the most photographed jetty in the world if you're looking for that perfect candid Insta shot.

  5. Englishman's Bay is a quiet beach on Tobago's leeward coast, between Castara and Parlatuvier. Although the bay attracts fewer beachgoers than Tobago's western beaches, it is regarded as one of the most beautiful on the island. The beach is a classic crescent shape, topped by two heavily forested headlands that descend from Tobago's Main Ridge. The sand begins immediately after the forest and has a shallow to medium gradient and coarse grain. Because of the gradient, the beach's size changes little at high and low tides. There is a strong beach break. The beach does not have spectacular snorkeling due to the number of waves. There is one small restaurant/gift shop, Eula's, and a single-stall male and female bathroom as of 2018.

A freshwater stream flows from the rainforest framing the sheltered beach along this mile-long stretch of sand. Just offshore is an incredible coral reef teeming with kaleidoscopic marine life. Make sure to bring your snorkeling equipment with you.
