Las Cuevas Bay
Continue driving north beyond Maracas Bay to reach Las Cuevas (The Caves), which has modest surf, a snack bar, picnic tables, changing facilities, and showers, as well as lifeguards on duty every day. In addition, as the name implies, there are a number of little caverns ideal for exploring and avoiding the strong sunshine if sunbathing isn't your thing.
In contrast to Maracas Bay, which is about 10 to 15 minutes away, the seas here are calmer and attract sea bathers who like the 80-centimeter breakers. It is also less busy and more private than Maracas Bay. It's a sheltered horseshoe bay that offers wind protection, making it a perfect swimming spot. However, between November and April, surfing is typically done on the western end, with waves reaching as high as 1. 5 meters. If you're not up for the baking and shark frenzy as you make your way here, there's a restaurant near the car park that sells local fare.
