BMWi is a sub-brand of BMW that was established in 2011 with the goal of designing and manufacturing plug-in electric automobiles. The i3 all-electric car and the i8 plug-in hybrid were the first two vehicles released by BMW.

In December 2019, BMW Group electric vehicles sold 500,000 units, including BMWi, iPerformance, xDrive, and MINI models. With high-quality electric vehicles, BMW is considered one of the best electric vehicles manufacturers in the world.
