BobbiBrown Cosmetics
Bobbi Brown cosmetics made a cosmetic brand originating in the United States in 1990. Bobbi Brown is a professional make-up artist, author, and the founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in the United States. According to Entrepreneur, she invented ten natural-shade lipsticks that "revolutionized the beauty market". She has authored nine books on health and beauty. Following her departure from Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in 2016, Brown also launched a brand of wellness products with a focus on beauty. The Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women & Girls, a new global charitable endeavor from Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, is launched.
Brown, who was raised in a Jewish family in Chicago, Illinois, earned a degree in theatrical makeup and photography from Emerson College in Boston. Then, she relocated to New York City in 1980 to pursue a career as a makeup artist. In sharp contrast to the then-popular bright colors, Brown began to be known for a beautiful look that featured muted and natural tones. In order to create ten natural lipstick colors in 1990, Brown collaborated with a chemist. The 10 hues made their debut at Bergdorf Goodman in 1991 under the moniker Bobbi Brown Essentials. Instead of selling 100 in a month as she had anticipated, she did so in a single day. Moreover, she introduced yellow-toned foundation sticks the following year. In Auckland, New Zealand, the company's first standalone retail location with a makeup academy was inaugurated in 2007. There were about thirty independent Bobbi Brown cosmetics stores as of January 2014.
