Unilever
With its headquarters in London, England, Unilever is a multinational British firm that manufactures consumer goods. Food, condiments, ice cream, cleaning supplies, cosmetics, and personal care items are all produced by Unilever. The largest soap manufacturer in the world, Unilever, with products sold in almost 190 nations. The three primary divisions of Unilever are Foods and Refreshments, Home Care, and Beauty & Personal Care. It has facilities for research and development in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, China, India, and the United States.
Unilever was established on September 2, 1929, by the combination of Dutch margarine maker Margarine Unie with British soap maker Lever Brothers. Unilever purchased the United Africa Company in the 1930s. The company developed its activities internationally and gradually diversified from producing goods composed of oils and fats over the second half of the 20th century. In 1997, Unilever sold its operations in specialty chemicals to ICI. Under Paul Polman's direction, the company progressively moved its emphasis in the 2010s away from food brands with moderate growth and toward health and beauty products. The biggest brands produced by Unilever are Lifebuoy, Dove, Sunsilk, and Knorr.
