Boom Restaurant & Pool
Boom Restaurant & Pool at Gunpowder House's elevated harbourside location is difficult to beat for a spectacular dining spot. Boom's proprietors have built a fantastic elegant setting to have a superb lunch, building on the success of their Pillars restaurant in the historic Admiral's Inn located just across the harbor.
This one-of-a-kind bar and restaurant is located in front of a renovated 18th-century gunpowder shop that houses art exhibitions and has four beautiful deluxe rooms.
The Boom menu emphasizes a fresh and healthy approach with seafood favorites like Caribbean Fish Cakes, Lobster Salad, and Seared Tuna, but meat fans will enjoy the Truffle Aioli Steak Sandwich and Peppered Tournedos.
Boom is led by English Chef Matthew Carpenter, who trained at 1 Michelin Star Petrus in London's Knightsbridge, where he worked under Marcus Wareing's watchful eye, and then at 2 Michelin Star Gidleigh Park, where he worked for Michael Caines. Matthew is now putting his superb culinary skills to use by offering fresh, inventive meals for lunch at Boom, as well as a weekly 5-course Chef's Tasting Menu on Thursday nights during the season.
The pool and sunbeds are free for lunch guests, however, there is a cost if you just want to enjoy the view, lounge, and swim.
