Boysun Bahori
In the spring, there are numerous events that are unique to each province or smaller town. The Boysun Bahori festival is one of the most prominent cultural festivals in Uzbekistan.
It is observed in the Surkhandarya province, notably in the mountainous region of Boysun. It is a very old event that took place before the arrival of Islam. Songs are sung, costumes are worn, dance acts are performed, storytellers and other traditional activities are held during this event, which maintains its authenticity despite the passage of time.
It is an exaltation of Uzbek culture, and it is a deeply rooted event in its culture and history. Boysun Bahori was designated an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2001.
