Breckenridge
Breckenridge, a town founded in 1859, still exudes the same Victorian elegance it did at the height of the gold rush. In addition to enduring its change from a silver and gold mine village to one of the nation's most favored skiing resorts, it has maintained its down-to-earth and welcoming attitude. Additionally, Breck, as it is known locally, is only a short drive from other well-known Colorado locations, such as Vail, which is located 40 miles to the northwest, and Denver, which is located 80 miles to the northeast.
It's also a well-liked starting place for many of the top snowmobile trips in Colorado. Runs on the Tenmile Range and nights spent refueling at downtown restaurants and pubs, as well as a variety of breweries and even a distillery, characterize Breck winter days. Winter sports are replaced with hiking and cycling in the summer. But regardless of the time of year, Breckenridge's majestic sunsets and starry skies are a sight to behold and well worth returning to again.
