Canada
You would not expect Canada to be at the top of the major diamond-producing countries when it comes to output. Canada is the newest diamond-producing country on this list. Geologists discovered diamond deposits in the Arctic region, and the country has since grown to become a major diamond producer. Leading diamond firms such as Rio Tinto, Dominion Diamond, De Beers, and Stornoway Diamonds operate important diamond mines in Canada, including Diavik, Ekati, and Gahcho Kué in the North West Territories, the Victor mine in Ontario, and the Renard mine in Quebec.
Consumers have been attracted to Canadian diamonds. Some people choose them because they are made in an atmosphere free of conflict, where workers are adequately compensated, and where environmental regulations are in place. By inscribing certificate numbers and trade emblems, Canadian diamond and jewelry makers have advertised their country's origin.
