Carnival Mardi Gras
Carnival has made sure that all the old favorites are onboard and bigger than ever, as well as made room for features that are sure to impress. With significantly more space than the other Fun Ships-the Carnival Mardi Gras size is 35% larger than the class of ships before it-the line has made sure that all the old favorites are onboard and bigger than ever.
The first roller coaster at sea and part of the Carnival Mardi Gras is Bolt, which is always at the top of everyone's list of must-try thrill rides. The Atrium, meanwhile, is situated on the side of the ship rather than in the middle, giving it access to three stories of sea views during the day and a top-notch entertainment area at night.
Additionally, Mardi Gras is the first Carnival ship to feature six distinct "neighborhoods." Although it's not the first cruise ship to have themed areas-Royal Caribbean did this with Oasis of the Seas back in 2008—the communities divide the megaship into manageable and enjoyable pieces.
The Brass Magnolia, which has a smoky lounge with live music and a lofty botanical bar staffed with mixologists, and the Fortune Teller Bar, which has a kooky, spooky velvet lounge vibe, are two of the best new bars we've seen on a ship in years. Cocktail lovers will throng to the New Orleans-themed French Quarter for these two establishments. The Patio at Summer Landing, in contrast, aims for an outside BBQ vibe with activities like cornhole.
