CAROL L. FORTE
As one of Super Lawyers Nominated for Medical Malpractice 2005 2016 (Top 10 2008, Ranked by Super Lawyers for 10 Consecutive Years); New Jersey Top 100 Women Lawyers (2010) and New Jersey Top 50 Women Lawyers (2010 and 2014), Carol was also included in the 2010 New Jersey Top 10 Lawyers list (including all male and female attorneys). She and she were honored as one of the Top 100 American Attorneys for her work in medical malpractice and personal injury litigation.
According to the National Law Journal, Carol L. Forte is frequently cited by other lawyers as the leading female attorney in New Jersey's litigation. In a May 2000 article titled The Jersey Giants, the magazine published Ms. Recognized Forte as one of the top 10 bailiffs by the state. The National Law Journal has recognized her multiple times as one of 50 women litigants in the United States. Carol was elected a Fellow of the American College of Litigation Lawyers in 2008. The university is made up of the best judicial boards in the United States and Canada. Membership is by invitation only and may be renewed after careful investigation to ensure that this honor is awarded only to trial attorneys who have mastered the skills of the legal profession and whose experience is characterized by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, courtesy and camaraderie. Membership at the university is limited to 1% of the national lawyers.
She joined the company in 1984 after graduating from Seton Hall University School of Law. Her previous experience as a registered nurse has proven helpful in cases of medical malpractice. Some of her achievements include a $12,682,500 jury verdict against the parents of a boy with severe brain damage whose twins died in womb. Compensation of US $8,000,000.00 on behalf of a child with brain damage whose delivery was delayed because doctors and nurses caring for the mother were not aware of the pain of the fetus; Settlement for an amount of US $ 5,000,000.00 in a product liability case; Millions of dollars in compensation for cases of brain damage in children and US $3,000,000.00 in compensation for premature infants suffering from infections in the neonatal ward that caused brain damage.
Carol represented many women who were not diagnosed with breast cancer early. She also dealt with cervical cancer diagnosis delays. She is one of the leading attorneys in New Jersey handling birth injury cerebral palsy cases and brachial plexus injury cases in which the nerves controlling a child's shoulder and arm were damaged during delivery. Carol is a member of the Essex, Morris and New Jersey State Bar Associations, the American Board of Trial Advocates and American Trial Lawyers Association. She is on the Supreme Court Board on Attorney Certification and the Seton Hall Law School Board of Visitors. She has lectured for the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Institute for Continuing Legal Education in New Jersey.
