CentralWorld
Bangkok, Thailand's CentralWorld is a shopping center and complex. The ninth-largest shopping center in the world is there. The firm Central Pattana is the owner of the complex, which has an office building and a hotel. After three years of planning and redevelopment, CentralWorld was able to surpass Siam Paragon in size in 2006 by adding 550,000 m2 (5,900,000 sq ft) of shopping mall and 830,000 m2 (8,900,000 sq ft) of complex.
The eight-story mall, which was first known as the World Trade Center, was inaugurated on 7 April 1990. The Wang Phetchabun group sold the property to Central Group in 2002, who renamed it Central World Plaza. It changed its name to CentralWorld in 2005. On land that the Crown Property Bureau has leased. Central Pattana (SET: CPN), the property development division of the Central Group, acquired the property and negotiated a brand-new, 30-year lease.
The New Year's Eve Countdown party was held in CentralWorld Square, the largest outdoor activity square in the heart of Bangkok, which has an area of 8,000 square meters. 400 fountain heads that danced were incorporated throughout the plaza.
