Christian Ernest Dior was a French fashion designer best known for founding Christian Dior SE, one of the world's most prestigious fashion houses, which is now owned by LVMH. Dior is the second of seven children born to Maurice Dior and Madeleine Martin in Granville, France.

Dior developed and built the Dior fashion house following World War II, with his "New Look" collection altering women's wear and helping to the reestablishment of Paris as the fashion capital.
