CNN - Breaking News, Latest News and Videos
The Cable News Network (abbreviated CNN) is an American basic cable and satellite television channel owned by Time Warner's Turner Broadcasting System division. Ted Turner, an American media mogul, founded the 24-hour cable news channel in 1980. CNN was the first television channel in the United States to provide 24-hour television news coverage, as well as the first all-news television channel.
While CNN has many affiliates, it primarily broadcasts from the CNN Center in Atlanta, the Time Warner Center in New York City, and studios in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. CNN/U.S. is used to distinguish the American channel from its international counterpart, CNN International. CNN programming is broadcast globally via CNN International, which is available to viewers in over 212 countries and territories.
CNN Worldwide is a portfolio of more than two dozen news and information services available in more than 200 countries via cable, satellite, radio, wireless devices, and the Internet. CNN reaches more people in the United States than any other TV news organization through television, the Internet, and mobile devices. CNN is the most widely distributed news channel in the world, reaching over 260 million households, and the CNN Digital Network is consistently the top current events and news destination on the web.
